Building Control Surveyor

Senior Building Control Surveyor
Location: Central London/Hybrid
Rate: £431.84 per day umbrella

A central London Local Authority is seeking an interim Senior Building Surveyor.  The ideal candidate will have a solid background in building control, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring compliance with building regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects.
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
• Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person).
• Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours.
• Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence.
• Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors.
• Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties.

Required Skills:

• Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification.
• Full corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
• Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control.
