Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake inspections, investigations, and compliance checks across a range of environmental health areas.
- Apply environmental health legislation, enforcement tools, and regulatory frameworks effectively.
- Carry out air quality and contaminated land duties alongside wider environmental health responsibilities.
- Analyse data, assess performance, and identify non-compliance or under-performance.
- Produce clear documentation, reports, and recommendations to support enforcement and service delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental health legislation, enforcement powers, and their legal basis.
- Strong background in at least one environmental health specialism.
- Proven experience in investigations, inspections, data analysis, and compliance monitoring.
- Ability to work within the context of an English unitary local authority.
