Senior Highways Engineer
A local authority is recruiting for a Senior Highways Engineer to develop the outline business case using detailed engineering proposals to be prepared for a range of interventions which could potentially be used to improve air quality. The Council have been placed under Ministerial Direction to develop a plan for addressing air quality issues and have been allocated funding of £1.14m to develop its air quality plan through to Outline Business Case by 31 October 2019.
The proposals include Clean Air Zone, park and ride schemes preparing detailed engineering designs, production of estimates for construction, preparation of contract specification documentation and initial statutory undertaker equipment enquiries.
The role will report directly to the Council's Highways Services Manager and will be directly responsible for overseeing the work of two assistant engineers who are also engaged on this project.
Experience of managing the workload of a team of professionals to achieve challenging deadlines will therefore be essential.
