I currently have contract vacancies for 3x Server Engineers to work with my Public Sector client in Cheshire in 3rd Line Support roles.

All 3 posts require applicants who have strong technical experience in support and build/configuration.

My client requires one applicant to support existing infrastructure whilst migrating to O365/Windows 10. The essential skills for this post are:

  • Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2/2012/2016 (2019 would be advantageous)
  • Active Directory 2003/2008/2012 & PKI – group policy, DNS, DJCP support etc
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 & O365 – manage servers, DAGs, Mailbox recovery etc
    • PowerShell scripting skills -  working with MS  Exchange and AD
    • Lync 2010/2013 – patching /system support end to end
    • McAfee ePO – system management – policy management on server estate – rolling out agent updates
    • SCOM 2007/2012


Desirable:-

  • Azure ADFS  - experience of ASDFs
  • Azure - working with Azure portal and VMs based in Azure.
  • VMware – working with virtual servers on VMware infrastructure.

Experience -

  • Worked in large complex environments covering multiple sites and data centres
  • Understanding of large complex infrastructures including LAN/WAN, SAN, virtualisation
  • Application consolidation and migration experience AD and Exchange
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors to upgrade/migrate applications
  • PRINCE2 and ITIL
  • Local government experience
  • Knowledge of Government Connect security standards
  • Migration of servers to the cloud
  • Excellent analysis and documentation skills
  • Produce High Level Design documentation / work instructions
  • Ability to work on run and change consecutively and manage your time accordingly


Knowledge of the following technologies would be desirable:

  • Virtualisation technologies: VMware vSphere 4/5 and Microsoft HyperV
  • IIS and reverse proxy servers
  • Microsoft SQL Servers & clusters
  • Microsoft Lync 2010/13 (ideally with SIP integration with Avaya experience)
  • Microsoft Sharepoint

 

There are two posts available to support existing infrastructure whilst migrating to XenApp 7.x /Windows 2016 to Azure. The essential skills for these posts are:

  • Citrix Presentation Server / Citrix XenApp 6.5 – system support end to end Storefront/Web services / Citrix Receiver / printer support
    • Active Directory – group policy support
    • Windows Server 2008 R2/2012/2016
    • SCOM 2007/2012
      • PowerShell scripting skills - working with Citrix/Server estate
      • Understanding of large complex infrastructures including LAN/WAN, SAN, virtualisation
      • Good analysis and documentation skills
      • Produce High Level Design documentation / work instructions
      • Ability to work on run and change consecutively and manage your time accordingly



Desirable:-

  • SCCM - packaging and deployments on Citrix Server / general server estate 
  • AppSense support- Environment manager and Application manager - creating/ testing and deploying configurations   V8 or above within Citrix or Desktop estate


Knowledge of:

  • VMware – working with virtual servers on VMware infrastructure.
  • Azure - working with Azure portal and VMs based in Azure.

 
Experience

  • Worked in large complex environments covering multiple sites and data centres
