Rate: £750 per day (Umbrella)

A Local Authority in West London is seeking an Interim Head of Finance to lead the Homes & Communities Finance Teams within Financial Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Homes & Communities Finance Teams, ensuring high-quality financial direction, business partnering, and advisory support.
• Develop and implement the Council’s financial strategy, including building complex financial models to guide decision-making.
• Support the formulation of a long-term vision for financial services, aligned with the Council’s objectives and challenges.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and directorates to maximise the use of limited financial resources and provide strategic financial insight.
• Contribute to corporate planning and support statutory financial responsibilities of the Chief Finance Officer.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Proven experience in developing annual budgets and final accounts in a local authority setting.
• Significant senior management experience, with a strong track record of leading professional finance teams.
• Deep understanding of public sector accounting principles, governance, and strategic financial planning.
