Building Surveyor

Building Surveyor – Portsmouth/Hybrid – £35.68 per hour (Umbrella)

A Local Authority in Portsmouth is seeking an Interim Building Surveyor to join their Property Services Team on a contract basis.
You will play a key role in delivering a wide range of surveying duties across the Council’s diverse property portfolio, which includes over 3,000 housing stock units as well as operational, commercial, and community assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend day-to-day responsive repairs across the property portfolio
• Diagnose building defects and determine appropriate remedial works
• Evaluate and recommend repair options and issue works accordingly
• Update stock condition data and maintain accurate property records
• Undertake condition surveys and inspections of housing and other assets

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Building Surveying, with a focus on repairs and condition surveys
• Strong diagnostic and report-writing skills
• Knowledge of responsive repair best practices in a local authority or social housing context
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
