Senior Electrical Engineer – London – £33.83/hour (Umbrella)


A London Local Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join on an interim basis to support the delivery of a large-scale Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Reporting (EICR) programme. This contract role is integral to ensuring electrical compliance and safety standards are met across a diverse housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee external electrical contractors undertaking EICRs, remedial works, and domestic fire alarm installations and servicing.
• Review Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), identify remedial requirements, and agree scopes of work to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
• Ensure accurate certification and reporting of completed works, including BS7671 compliance.
• Produce detailed reports for progress meetings and stakeholder updates.
• Conduct site visits to assess quality of works, agree on-site actions, and maintain compliance standards.
• Liaise with internal teams, residents, and contractors to deliver high-quality service in a social housing context.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience overseeing electrical works and managing contractors, ideally within a social housing environment.
• Familiarity with Domestic Fire Alarm systems and related certification.
• Strong reporting skills with ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Recognised qualifications including:
  Full UK Driving Licence required.

  • Inspection & Testing (2391)
  • Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent time-served apprenticeship
