Highways Project Manager – Isle of Wight (Hybrid)
£49.33 per hour (Umbrella) | Interim

A Local Authority is recruiting an experienced Highways Project Manager to support delivery of a £1.3m per annum programme of bus infrastructure schemes funded through the Department for Transport’s Bus Settlement Fund.
Working alongside the Transport Strategy Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of projects aligned to the Island’s Bus Service Improvement Plan and draft Transport Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a programme of bus infrastructure improvements (bus shelters, accessibility works, RTI systems, lighting, CCTV).
• Oversee projects from conception to completion, managing budgets, risk and quality.
• Lead procurement and contractor management in collaboration with Engineering and Commercial teams.
• Establish project governance and report to boards and committees.
• Engage effectively with stakeholders, partners and the local community.
• Ensure compliance with national design, safety and accessibility standards.

About You:

• Proven highways or transport project management experience within a local authority setting.
• Strong governance, procurement and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to deliver complex infrastructure schemes to time and budget.
