Procurement Officer

Procurement Officer – Crewe – £22.77 per hour (Umbrella)

A Local Authority in Crewe is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support the Category Managers in delivering high-quality procurement activity across a range of service areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with public sector experience to play a key role in ensuring best value for money and supporting the delivery of the Council’s Procurement Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide procurement support across sourcing, purchasing, and tendering activities
• Assist with contract and supplier management to drive value and performance
• Support Category Managers across key service areas such as People’s, Adults, Children’s, or Public Health
• Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies
• Contribute to delivering best value outcomes for the Council and its clients

About You:

• Experience in procurement within the public sector (desirable)
• Knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, tendering, and contract management
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
