Estate Surveyor

Estate Surveyor – Essex / Hybrid – £400 per day (Umbrella)

A Local Authority is seeking an experienced Estate Surveyor to join its Corporate Property Team. Reporting to the Estate Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s Corporate Property Strategy and managing a diverse property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver condition surveys, asset reviews and performance monitoring across the estate
• Lead property transactions and support a rolling asset management programme
• Provide strategic property advice to Council departments and major projects
• Manage tenant liaison, debt control and reactive repairs
• Contribute to the development of property strategies, policies and Cabinet reports
• Engage with external stakeholders, including government bodies and consultants
• Support project delivery and oversee external service providers where required

About You:

• Proven experience in estate/property management, ideally within the public sector
• Strong knowledge of asset management, landlord & tenant matters and property strategy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
• Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing reports for senior stakeholders or committees
• Professional qualification (e.g. MRICS) desirable
