Housing Officer

Housing Officer – Essex – £27.28 per hour (Umbrella)

A London Borough is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to support the Housing Choice & Applications Service, delivering an efficient housing register and allocations service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess housing applications and determine eligibility in line with the Housing Allocation Policy
• Provide housing advice and support to residents with housing needs
• Advertise and allocate Council and Housing Association properties through Choice Based Lettings
• Manage service enquiries and inboxes
• Make property offers and nominations within required timescales to minimise void loss
• Verify priority applicants prior to property offers
• Support decants from regeneration programmes and allocate suitable accommodation

Requirements:

• Previous Housing Officer experience within a local authority or social housing setting
• Experience working with housing registers, allocations or Choice Based Lettings systems
• Strong customer service and case management skills
