Interim Disrepair Surveyor
South London
£300 – £350 per day (Umbrella)

A South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join a busy, high-profile Disrepair Team. 
  Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will take ownership of disrepair cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake property inspections to diagnose disrepair issues and specify remedial works
• Raise works orders and manage contractors through to completion
• Carry out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-completion checks
• Project manage disrepair works, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality standards are met
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
• Act as a key point of contact for tenants, providing clear communication and support throughout works
• Coordinate and oversee temporary decants where required
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Legal and Tenancy teams

  We are looking for a proactive and technically strong surveyor who can manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying
• Strong technical knowledge of building defects and repairs
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation within property maintenance
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organisational and project management abilities
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Previous experience in disrepair (training can be provided)
• Experience within the Social Housing sector
• Background in managing major repairs or planned works
