"Why roads in Inverness are being painted green"

The BBC has shared the news that "Sections of roads in Inverness are being painted green in an effort to improve safety.

The project, which is being led by Highland Council, has funding from walking and cycling charity Sustrans.

Highland Council said the green areas highlighted the fact that the road space was shared between cyclists and cars.

Work is being carried out on Culduthel Road, where advisory cycle lanes are also planned."
